April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July. She began guitar and piano lessons at age seven. Her interest in songwriting was awakened. At the age of seven April started taking guitar and piano classes. It sparked her interest in songwriting. When she was 14, April spent much time writing lyrics and perfecting her music ability. Soon, April began taking trips across NY and LA together with her father so that they could both write songs. April started to incorporate additional relevant subjects into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer with a growing number of followers. She works with popular brand Ilia together, as well as being a lifestyle expert. Lockhart was never born having a left-handed hand, which is why she's who she is. But that's far from all the facts. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore her being disabled and does not concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. It's a reminder. That we all contain multitudes of identities and that we are beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart in a video interview "I don't think that will define my character. It's not my intention to be an influencer on disability, because I've many more things to contribute." This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I go about doing my job as normal and have come up with my own ways to adapt. However, it's a component of me, so I believe that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart has served as an excellent example to other women in the area of acceptance of oneself. She admits that she has gone through phases where she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. Today, she wears anything she wants. And she posts her pictures to social networks. Self-love, according to her, is a process. "I do not think that you will ever be there," she said. The same is true for everybody regardless of level of insecurity. It's important to have people in your life who know and understand you. They will be the ones to ask you: What do you worry about?
