When I had a baby on me and others within the cradle would work 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! Ha! It all started to make sense, but wasn't quite finished. It would take money, effort, as well as my personal favorite to furnish this house. To keep in the realm of budgets, I took to taking my kids to estate sales in search of diamonds. Each week we would spend Thursday to Saturday at garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. After that, I stenciled and polished the driveway during the workweek. The furniture I found looked like... that's when my desire to repair furniture started. Even though our home was fully furnished, I could not put down. There was an area at the local markets in which I sold my pieces. I was able to outgrow the market because I had plenty of pieces that I was able to use. My home was where I began hosting open houses, where over 1000 guests could visit and purchase any product they liked on the 1st floor within a single weekend. Growing Days is the result from this. Apart from my successful company, I also started our family. The balance was between starting a new business and being a mother. Growing Days fit perfectly. My precious Nora was born in 2013, which was our 4th child. This was a fantastic direction for my business however I was also in need of an escape. I decided to step back and stay at home, with my kids. It was just what I wanted. After a while, off the phone started to ring. There were calls from people asking me to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. The majority of them were people who came into my residence in my open houses for furniture. It didn't seem long until I had a fully-fledged business for home improvement. It began with taking clients on one with a speed I was confident in. If you had told me that this business that I started would become the premise of a tv show for the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. As I think about the circumstances, I find myself laughing.
