Jenna Fischer has become best recognized as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. For her role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her birthplace and childhood was in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna was inspired by her mom's church performances as she began her career.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. She was a part of the Off-Broadway show Reasons to Be Happy, written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. Her role was later reprised as the first woman to appear in Steve Martin's latest production Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy with Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking performance on Old Globe Theatre. In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office actor and friend Angela Kinsey began the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to become wildly popular, landing within the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads over its first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of two books: The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide that details her journey through St. Louis to Hollywood and her journey to becoming a successful actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two of the Best Friends That Were There (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) This book provides the story of their greatest relationship and their time in The Office.
